Our room was inexpensive, charming and had a great view. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was great.
The hotel itself is tired, old and run down. It is in dire need of updating.

Dispite some negative comments here I would urge people to stay here for the experience. The hotel is making an effort to try to get more customers. The rooms are clean and large / comfortable. Good view of lake. Interesting history ... Once owned by Feank Sinatra which the hotel certainly makes a point of. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel for the price.
The hotel is like a ghost town. Can't have been more than a few people staying in this huge place which makes it kind of odd. A shame as the hotel clearly used to be bustling with life in the Sinatra days. Food at the restaurant was obviously reheated and we were the only people eating. Would need a lot of cash and marketing to restore it to it's former glory.

Good value for the money.
The hotel is sorely in need of maintenance. The large public bathrooms were clean but many of the door locks on the toilets were inoperative and some of the doors were almost falling of the hinges. The ladies large public bathroom had an offensive odor. The rooms were adequate, however, the wallpaper was starting to separate from the wall. Years ago, when I stayed at this hotel it was a premium hotel. It is sad to see that this hotel is in a state of deterioration due to poor maintenance. However, then room price is good if you can put up with the maintenance problems.

The pictures provide on the booking .com site were not similar neither to the hotel in total nor the room we stayed. From the prictures we expected a much better comfort.

Lots of history as far as famous people that have stayed there.
Hotel has not been updated at all and was in fact falling apart. Walls in room appeared to be water damaged. Very old decor throughout. Beds were terrrible...woke up with back aches. No gaming tables and very few slot machines. Accomodates where very dated and not what I would expect from a Tahoe Area Casino for $100 a night.

Have nothing good to say....
Was disappointed in Cal Neva Resort. We booked on line with the faith that their reputation would stand behind them...SORRY! Worst place we have stayed in during our travels. The beds were regular size, so old that the springs shook both ways, sinks in middle, sheets and towels were very rough, bedspread very old and dingy. All the furniture was old, outdated, broken and tv reception was bad. We had asked for a refridgerator to keep our meds cold....$10.00 Chg!! We complained and they did remove the chg. Lots of empty areas where must of been the casino --nothing going on here..no fun ..no activities!! No shower hats!

On the previous question you didn't include wedding, or lakeside. Two obvious words to describe Lake Tahoe in the summer. We needed a hotel near Incline and couldn't afford the Hyatt where the wedding was being held. We got a special rate for one night and what made it especially wonderful was the upgrade to a suite with a fabulous 180 degree view.
Since there wasn't room service we had to improvise a special in room dining experience with the best lakeside view of any restaurant on the lake. It more then made up for the shabbiness of the hotel's ageing appearance. I can't believe there isn't any acess to the beach! We were sent down a road but the only beach acess was on Shipwreck Beach? A dinky beach taht held 6-10 people total. The molding was missing around the corners in the hallways, and the fake palm tree by the elevator was falling out of it's basket along with the sad floral display across from the elevator. But once we were in the suite the view took our breath away and everything else was forgotten.
